Damages & Returns
At Bright Side Candles, we take pride in the quality of our handmade candles and curated book products. All purchases are final sale, but if your order arrives damaged or defective, we’ll make it right when eligible under the terms below.
General Guidelines
Reporting Window: All damage or defect claims must be submitted within 14 days (two weeks) of the delivery date shown on your tracking.
Contact: Email team@thebrightsidecandles.com with your order number, name, email, description of the issue, and clear photos of the damaged item(s).
Proof Required: Photos must clearly show both the product issue and packaging.
Note: Once shipping labels have been printed, no address updates will be accepted. Once tracking shows “Delivered” to the address provided, the order is considered fulfilled and is no longer eligible for replacement or refund, even if the package cannot be located.
Candle Orders
Our candles are handmade, poured, and packaged with care — but shipping mishaps can happen. We’ll happily review any valid claims under the following conditions.
Qualifies for Replacement or Partial Refund
*Broken or shattered glass vessels
*Leaking wax due to transit damage
*Severe melting, cracking, or breakage that makes the candle unusable
*Missing candle from your order
Does Not Qualify
*Slight wax frosting or tunneling (a natural characteristic of soy blends)
*Minor label misalignment or small cosmetic imperfections
*Scent or color preference
*Melting or warping due to heat exposure after successful delivery
Book Orders
We know how important pristine editions are for collectors. We carefully package each book, but if you receive a damaged or misprinted copy, please contact us within the 14-day window.
Qualifies for Replacement or Partial Refund
*Torn, ripped, or gouged pages that interfere with reading
*Large dents, deep corner crushes, or spine separation (generally >1 cm)
*Incorrect or missing book in your order
*Major misprint (e.g., missing pages, duplicate sections)
Does Not Qualify
*Light scuffing, small corner dings, or very minor spine bends from transit
*Slight color or foil imperfections
*Cosmetic damage to dust jackets that does not affect readability
*Books marked as delivered by the carrier but later reported missing or stolen
International Orders
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, or fees. These charges are non-refundable. All international orders follow the same two-week reporting window and eligibility rules.
How to Submit a Claim
Email team@thebrightsidecandles.com with the subject line:
“Order Issue – [Your Order #]”
Include:
*Order number
*Full name and email used on the order
*Clear photos of the product and packaging
*Description of the issue
Our team will respond within 2–3 business days to confirm whether your order qualifies under this policy and outline next steps.
